About BUHE
BUHE: Built Here with Ethiopique is a paid Bilingual (English & Amharic) video and reflection series about building life, stability, business, ownership, and opportunity in the United States.
BUHE stands for Built Here with Ethiopique. It also carries the spirit of Buhe, the Ethiopian holiday that symbolizes light, renewal, the end of winter, and the beginning of a new season when flowers start to blossom.
In Buhe, light does not belong to one person. It begins with one torch, then that flame is shared with others. One person lights another person’s torch. Then another. Then another. What starts as one small flame becomes a communal light.
That is the heart of BUHE.
This publication is built the same way. One story can light another. One lesson can help another family. One mistake shared honestly can protect someone else. One person’s journey can give courage and clarity to the next person.
BUHE is not about pretending that building life in America is easy. It is about learning in public, reflecting honestly, and sharing what we discover as immigrants trying to understand systems, avoid costly mistakes, build stability, and create a meaningful future.
Each week, subscribers receive an Amharic and English, depending on their choice, video and reflection from Ethiopique. The topics may include work, money, business, credit, housing, ownership, family decisions, scams, community, opportunity, and the lessons that come from trying to build something in a new country.
BUHE is a learning space. It is not financial advice. It is not an investment opportunity. It is not a promise of profit.
